About the book:
The king of a faraway land lives in a palace, lonely in its luxury. It’s only the sounds of birds singing that can still take him beyond the palace walls and bring a smile to his face. One night, he hears a very special song, and he wants to listen to it over and over again – day and night, day after day. The king gives his order to catch the singing bird and to cage it. But caged, the tiny bird of paradise does not sing. Servants keep bringing more birds and they make a new, even larger, and more beautiful cage but still, the birds will not sing. The king’s last hope is a poor boy from the outskirts of town. All he has is a cage and a bird, singing beautifully in it. What is his secret?
